There's a Reason - "Defeated to Overcomer" (Freedom Devotional Mar. 10)

In my life there have been times when I have lived in defeat. I have walked the Christian walk as a defeated Christian. That sounds like an oxymoron, 'defeated Christian'. How can we be in Christ and still live in defeat? Too many Christ followers spend their entire faith walk, or chunks of it, living this way. That isn't how Christ meant for us to live.

As we head into Easter I am always a bundle of emotion and this year, the emotion that seems to be bubbling up is gratitude. Out of that gratitude comes a desire to not waste what Christ did and what He has given me. 2 Peter 1:3 tells us, "By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence".

As a result of Christ's death and Resurrection we have salvation. Through that salvation all the gifts and tools necessary to live a victorious life in Christ are available to us. The battle is already won; we just have to choose to join in and fight. This Easter, I wonder if you would join with me in considering what our lives would look like if we embraced all that Christ has done and given us and allowed ourselves to live as victors. I am so grateful for the cross and the empty tomb and my prayer is that I not waste what the Lord has provided for me

See you Sunday . . .  and yes, it is time change Sunday and yes, you are losing an hour of precious sleep, but what's an extra hour of sleep in light of our eternity with Christ? :
