Proverbs 20:24 - A man’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand his own way?
One of the most common questions I’ve heard as a pastor – and just simply as a Christ-follower! – is, “What is God’s will for my life?” Most Christians sincerely want to make decisions that please God and are in step with His plan for them. The trouble is that we often find ourselves unsure and indecisive when it comes to making choices in life.
So how do we find God’s will for our lives both in the simple things that will happen this week and in the big decisions we make along the way? Scripture is filled with practical insight that general enough to apply to all of us and specific enough to be applied to your individual circumstances. Jesus explained it, Paul wrote it in his letter to the Thessalonians and Proverbs is full of the same teaching.
In preparation for Sunday, read through Proverbs 2:1-9. Here’s a link to the NIV translation BibleGateway.com – you can start here and change the translation if you’d like. I recommend the NLT (New Living Translation), The Message and the NASB (New American Standard Bible).
