Revelation - The Tribulation (Freedom Devotional February 10)

Are you still tracking with me? We’ve been taking a good look at Revelation these past weeks on Sundays and Wednesdays and that’s a lot to take in. I hope the main message of being ready for Jesus is coming through loud and clear.

This Sunday we are going on a wild ride together as we do an overview of the Tribulation period. This covers chapters 6 through 19 and contains lots of action over a seven-year time frame. I encourage you to read through this section over the next few days in preparation for the message. Take note of how God’s judgments unfold and the reaction of the people experiencing them.

Do you remember me talking about the scroll with seven seals that Jesus holds in his hand in chapters four and five? The Tribulation starts with Jesus opening the seals one after another, each one setting off an end time action with startling consequences.

The seventh seal expands into seven trumpets and the seventh trumpet expands into seven bowls of God’s wrath. Keep this in mind as you work your way through the narrative. After a while you start adding up the damage incurred and begin to imagine just how terrible it’s all going to be on earth.

Among others things you will be introduced to the Antichrist and False Prophet midway through the Tribulation who are given authority by Satan to delude mankind into committing idolatry. The destruction of Babylon, the religious and commercial headquarters for worldliness, is depicted in chapters 17 and 18, setting the stage for the battle of Armageddon, the next world war in the truest sense.

So you’ve got your work cut out for you for the rest of the week. I know that you will get a better grasp on how the world will eventually implode before it’s recreated by God along with heaven for Christ’s followers’ to live forever. I will try to give you an informative tour of the Tribulation this Sunday to help you fill in the blanks of some questions that you may have been asking along the way.

Have an amazing day and see you Sunday….
