On Sunday, I invited anyone who wanted to make a decision to follow Jesus to pray with me at the end of the service. I was thinking about that later in the day and was reminded that in this season of Advent (which starts this Sunday), people are often more open to responding to the good news about Jesus. There will likely be many opportunities over the coming weeks for people to make the best decision of their lives.
While some people just show up to church without any connection ahead of time, many people who are new to Freedom come with you. They are friends, family, co-workers and neighbours. You’re the one they have been asking questions to, and you’re likely the one who invited them to church.

Perhaps it’s been a long time since you talked to someone about becoming a believer. Nicky Gumbel of Alpha has written a great resource called “Why Jesus?” It outlines how to answer the question of why Jesus is so important and what to do about it. I’d encourage you to take a look and be sure that you’re equipped to simply but powerfully share your faith.
It’s going to be a beautiful season of Advent and we start it off with our new series about how Jesus was promised long before Bethlehem. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you!
